Tyco International has signed on to support the National Volunteer Fire Council’s (NVFC) National Junior Firefighter Program for the fourth year. Through their support, the NVFC will continue to offer the Junior Firefighter of the Year and Junior Firefighter Program of the Year Awards, hold two hands-on National Junior Firefighter Academies, provide information and program resources at a trade show, and continue providing news updates through the Junior Firefighter E-news.
The NVFC will return to Monroe, NC, to host the National Junior Firefighter Academy at the Scott Safety headquarters on September 29. An additional hands-on training opportunity will be offered in late 2012/early 2013 at another Tyco company location. Stay tuned for more details on the National Junior Firefighter Program web site.
In addition, the NVFC will again honor an outstanding junior firefighter and exemplary junior firefighter program through the Junior Firefighter of the Year and Junior Firefighter Program of the Year Awards. The nomination period will open in late 2012. The Program will also travel to a trade show or conference to provide tools and resources to youth and departments. Through Tyco’s support, juniors and program advisors will be able to stay updated on all these events and awards through the ongoing bi-monthly Junior Firefighter E-news.
