NVFC Releases Junior Firefighter Academy Training Video

Thanks to support from Tyco, the National Volunteer Fire Council is excited to release a training video filmed at the National Junior Firefighter Academy at Scott Safety on November 14. Junior firefighters and program leaders worldwide can now view the drills from the Academy and get ideas for how to implement them in their own department. This year’s event included training on EMS, ropes, confined space, and thermal imaging cameras, as well as a mini Scott Combat Challenge. Watch now.

Nominate a Junior Firefighter or Youth Program for National Awards

Celebrate the significant impact of junior firefighting on the fire service by nominating a deserving youth or program for a national award! The nomination period is now open for the National Volunteer Fire Council’s (NVFC) Junior Firefighter of the Year Award and Junior Firefighter Program of the Year Award. NVFC Presents 5th Annual National Junior Firefighter Academy at Scott Safety

The National Volunteer Fire Council’s (NVFC) National Junior Firefighter Program, in partnership with Scott Safety and Tyco, offered the National Junior Firefighter Academy on November 14 at the Scott Safety headquarters in Monroe, NC. For the fifth year in a row, Academy attendees participated in a full day of educational activities, including a facility tour, hands-on training drills, and a special SWAT demonstration.

Tyco has been a key partner of the National Volunteer Fire Council’s (NVFC) National Junior Firefighter Program since 2009, and recently renewed their support for the coming year.
