How did you find out about your junior firefighter/Explorer program?keegan2
We found out about the program through our fire department.

Are you in any other clubs or organizations at school or in your community?
I am a Host at my elementary school. I have been in this position for 3 months. A Host is a student who welcomes new students to the school and shows them around.

What do you consider to be the biggest accomplishment so far in your life?
My biggest accomplishment in my life so far was joining the junior firefighter program.

Why did you become a junior firefighter?
I became a junior firefighter to help others.

What have you learned from being a junior firefighter?
I have learned about how a fire department runs and about the different equipment and gear.

Who is your role model and what have you learned from that person?
My role model is my dad who is the Assistant Chief at our fire department. I have learned how to work on the different trucks and the different skills that it takes to be a firefighter.

What are your plans for the future?
I would like to be a mechanic. I also plan to be a volunteer firefighter at our fire department.

What would you tell someone who was interested in becoming a junior firefighter?
Firefighting is fun but hard work!
