Name: Thomas P.
How did you find out about your junior firefighter/Explorer program?
I've been an Explorer for the past 4 to 5 years. I came from a large department in one county, and when I moved to a new county I got in touch with my friend’s dad and he invited me, so I joined.
Do you hold any special office or position?
I am a Lieutenant in my Explorer program.
What do you consider to be the biggest accomplishment so far in your life?
Joining the fire service.
Why did you become a junior firefighter?
To help my community. Plus it runs in my family, and it's a tradition and a brotherhood - I couldn’t ask for anything better
What have you learned from being a junior firefighter?
I've learnt a lot: respect, leadership, discipline, how to take orders; and more.
Who is your role model and what have you learned from that person?
My role model would have to be my former training captain Rodney - he taught me the basics and took me to my first fire.
What are your plans for the future?
To become the Chief of whatever department I'm at and lead that department in a good direction.
